And we don’t say that to scare you. Because most of the biggest health risks are manageable. Here are a few of the most common concerns in dachshunds: IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) To help prevent this, use stairs → (this helps break up any calcifications that have built up in their spine), avoid jumping, and help your Doxie maintain a healthy weight. Those tiny legs aren’t meant to launch off couches, even if they think they’re superheroes. Obesity One of the ways to help this is, portion control, high-quality food, and daily movement matter more than you think. We’re happy to share what we feed ours (and why PawTree is our go-to!).
